Holiday Card

Hello crafty souls Ulrika here!

My three month as a Wild Orchid Crafts designer is coming to an end and this will be my last post here. I couldn´t help myself from creating one more Holiday card. It´s so much fun!

For my card I have layered paper, tags, dolies and different die-cuts. I have also mixed some of my handmade flowers and some ready to use flowers.

I think this color combination with white, red and teal really feels festive and fun!

Both Berries and some of my flowers have a nice sparkly coat of glitter.

Different colors on Christmas Cards

Hello crafty souls Ulrika here!

If you have followed my work here at Wild Orchid Crafts you know I really love playing with different colors and color combinations! I enjoy to be a bit untraditional when it comes to colors! Today I have two different Christmas cards to show you. One in blue, green and white and one in gold, purple/lilac and beige.

This card has many layers with papers, die-cuts and flowers!

Different shades of blue with a little bit of green and white looks really fresh!

To add a little bit more wintery feeling I used fake snow on my flowers and on some parts of my card.

I really love gold! I think it looks really fancy with the purple/lilac colors with the gold details.

A little bit of gold glitter Stickles on my flowers tie together the flowers with the other gold embellishments in a nice way.

Thank you for visiting the Wold Orchid Craft blog today! I will see you here again after Christmas so I wish you a warm and loving Christmas! Hugs from Ulrika!

Christmas style ATC

Hello crafty souls Ulrika here again!

I love creating projects with a Christmas theme so much that I needed to make an extra blog post this week! Today I have three ATC with lots of gold and stunning flowers from WOC to share with you. If you´re not familiar with ATC the size is always 2,5x3,5.

When you make ATC it´s perfect to use your scraps! On my ATC today I tried to make them in the same style as if I had made a regular sized Christmas card.

It´s a bit difficult to take photos with all that sparkle but I hope you can see all the cute details!
The Berries together with the beautiful Roses and cute mini Sweethart flowers really give my ATC a elegant and pretty look!

I wanted the flowers to stand out a bit from all that gold so I let them be bare without any glitter this time. I only added some of the golden micro beads on some of them.

To get some interesting texture I also added some gold colored Stamens between the flowers.

White Poinsettia Christmas Card

Hello crafty souls Ulrika here!

Today I have a Christmas card with many layers of paper. I wanted the eye to focus on my handmade Poinsettias and the nice words. Therefore I made many frames and the smallest one is around my words. I painted the cute stars green and added rhinestones. When I took my photos I realized that one of them has fallen off! So that I need to fix before I send the card to someone dear to me!

I really love working with the foamiran! Today I left it all white and only added my painted spray. To get some sparkle I added metallic thread and I also used the beautiful metallic corner embellishments.

Green Hearts for Christmas

Hello crafty souls Ulrika here!

I really like to totally change bargain buys! I bought these cute hearts 50% off and totally gave them a makeover! They were white with dragonfly stickers on when I bought them.

First I painted them with gesso and then I added some texture with a stencil and modeling paste. Then I painted the hearts with a really shiny green color and also added two different shades of metallique wax. After the hearts was dry properly the fun begin with adding lots of flowers!

I mixed Roses, Lily Flowers, Miniature Sweetheart Blossoms and Berries. To get even more texture I added two sizes of Art-stones from Prima, Glassfillers and a ton of glitter.

Christmas box and matching card

Hello crafty souls Ulrika here!

I think it´s really nice to have a matching box with your card when you give it to someone really special! I think my sons teacher will get this box and card as Christmas gift. It´s really easy to fold your own box just make sure the box is a bit larger than your card so the card will fit in your box.

For my card and box I used papers from Swedish Maja Design.

The lid on the box and the card inside have similar design but still slightly different. On my lid I framed the image with a snow themed chipboard frame.

I chose white, grey and silver grey flowers for my flower cluster. For more shapes and textures I also added white frosted berries and white bead stamens.

When you open the box you find the card inside.

I used the same shape for the image but framed it different.
On both papers and embellishments I used Gesso for some white wash and highlights. I think the white Gesso add to the wintry feeling almost looking like snow.

Purple and Lilac Christmas Card

Hello to you all crafty souls!

November is here and for me that means the making of all Christmas cards begin! I really love making Christmas cards! It´s so fun to get a bit crazy with glitters and embellishments! I also enjoy create Christmas cards in not so traditional colors just like my lilac and purple card today.

I like to build up my background with lot of layers of paper and different die-cuts. Here I used dies from Spellbinders, Amy Design and Creative Expression.

To get my beautiful flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts in a wintry look I added some multimedium and then I dipped the flowers in Ranger Distress dry glitter called Clear Rock Candy.

The flowers really sparkles! I think it looks a bit like ice at the flowers <3

I also wanted a grey Poinsettia so I made one with foamiran and silver stamens. For my Poinsettia I used dies from Kaiser Craft.

Cute Baby Card

Hello to you all crafty souls!

Today it´s Thursday and my turn again to inspire you a bit with some gorgeous flowers!
We have a lovely young couple as neighbors and they recently gave birth to their second daughter. Along with some baby clothes they got this cute card from our family.

For my baby card I used papers from Bo Bunny and Doodlebug. I often use my sewing machine when I make cards. I think it looks so well made with the stiches.

In addition to all beautiful flowers I also added some die-cutted elements. Behind the cute teddy bear from Prima I used a die from Spellbinders. I also added some greenery, in pink and blue, from Memory Box and Marianne Design.

I think it´s nice to add some blue to all the pink. When you don´t have fitting blue flowers in your stash what´s more perfect than to make some with Foamiran! I used the Ivory sheet and colored it with some dry chalk. I used blue on the petals and a hot pink for the center. I also used the nice chunky stamens from the mixed packaging.

In the section with farbric flowers you find this really cute and sheer flowers in white. I used the same blue chalk on them as I used on my Foamiran.

Some ATC in bold colors

Hello all crafty souls!

Hope you will have a wonderful weekend! Today I want to share some cool ATC with you. One thing I really like with this hobby is to combine different colors. I´ll get really happy when I put together stunning flowers in excactly the right color combination. On my ATC today I used really strong and bold colors. I also painted some of my flowers with black Gesso to get a good foundation for the Metallique Wax I used.

For the faces I used moulds and paper clay. When the faces was dry I painted them with black Gesso and added Metallique Wax Vintage Gold from Prima.

Behind the faces, or maybe masks are a more correct word for them, I added feathers in black and purple. I also used sissal in gold. Below the sissal I used beautiful metal frames or plaquettes from Wild Orchid Crafts. Around the flowers I used Micro Beads from 13arts and some mica flakes in purple also from 13arts. To get some sparkle I used loose glitter from Prima Finnabair.

From Wild Orchid Crafts I used Purple Open Roses 10mm. I painted some flowers with black Gesso. The black flowers that I painted are Cherry Blossoms, Sweetheart Blossoms Flowers and Open Roses in the size10 mm. Then I added the Vintage Gold Wax from Prima on all flowers.

Lilac and purple layout

Hello you all crafty beautiful souls!

My name is Ulrika Blomfelt and I´m from Sweden. I´m also known as LillBlomman in the scrapbooking society. I´m so happy to be part of this amazing team and it´s a privilege to work with all this gorgeous supplies! As my very first DT project I have a lyout to show you. Hope you´ll like it!

I have worked with beautiful flowers in purple, lilac and white colors. To get some contrasts and make the colors pop even more I like to add some black details.

Some gold details match the yellow stamens and give the layout a bit of sparkle.

I painted the white Doves with black Gesso and added some gold wax. I think they look amazing!
