I {heart} Christmas
I had a play with something different for a very special friend who I think is the biggest fan of Christmas on this planet. Seriously! She has thousands of ornaments from all over the world so I wanted to make her something that I know she won’t already have.
Lots of delicious Wild Orchid Crafts products were used: Trellis Rose, Cottage Rose, Open Roses 15mm and 20mm, white cabochon angel, gold bells, white stamens. I dabbed white paint on to the flowers using a small piece of sponge (much more controlled than using a paintbrush) then once dry slathered on Mercury Glass Stickles.
The edges were painted with gold paint before I adhered the paper on then once dry the edges were inked and glittered.
My lovely hubby bent some brass tubing into ‘S’ shapes so I could join the hearts together
I bought the hearts from my local craft shop but I would think you could cut them quite easily from chipboard or mount board. I covered the front and back of each heart with Bo Bunny paper.
I had such fun making this and it only took a couple of hours to do.

Christmas Stocking
Whilst browsing Pinterest last week, and losing hours and hours – sheesh that place is dangerous, I saw some cute Christmas stocking cards. I had an idea to make an ornament instead of a card to give to special friends so they can use it again and again. A few hours later this is what I came up with. I love it!
I downloaded a few free templates off the internet and cobbled/adapted them till I got the shape I liked. It roughly measures 7.5” at the longest points. I cut this from mountboard, my local picture framers so very kindly donated some to the cause. Then the fun began. Out came the Christmas papers and embellies.
The embellies are mostly from Wild Orchid Crafts – Poinsettia large, pulled apart then spritzed with pearl shimmer then edges inked then reassembled with strong glue and finished off with a flatback pearls in a gold flower; small poinsettia I did the same but finished off with a gold finding and pearl. Holly leaves, berries from the gold Christmas berry spray, and open roses in 20mm, 15mm and 10mm. I also added a couple of gold bells to the ribbon bow and finished off with a wooden sentiment that I painted with gold paint then slathered in gold stickles.
I finished off the front with a couple of sentiment tags.
And a look at the back, where I have added a sentiment and left space to address the “card”. I really had fun making this and have quite a few ideas for more using different shapes.

Roses for Christmas
I’m covering for our Pops today because the poor thing is swamped with house remodelling.
The flowers (curly wild rose, 25mm roses, 15mm roses) , leaves, lace and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts as are the berries which started life out red before they got dunked in some German Glass Glitter. I love this stuff – try twirling the waste wire from the flowers, coating it in glossy accents and dunk into some glass glitter, lovely sparkly twirlies!
hugs
