A little heartbraker

Thank you so much to Paul and Siri for asking me to join this fantastic Design Team!! I'm truly honered and proud.

Here is my first creation I like to share with you all. This is a babycard and the sentiment translate to "Congratulations with a little heartbraker". I've colored this little cutie with my Copics. The papers are Maja Design, from Sweden. I love this paper and use them a lot :) Punches are from MS. To embellish I have of course used gorgeous flowers from WOC; 15mm Open Roses, 10mm Open Roses, 6mm Closed Rosebuds and Cherry Blossoms Flowers :) I put some Stickles Star Dust on them to add a little sparkle.

Merry-Go-Round of Roses!

Hi Everyone~

I hope you enjoy my first post here at the Wild Orchid Crafts Blog!  I am so excited to share my creations with you!  Thanks again to Paul and Siri for asking me to be a part of their wonderful team!  Today I want to share my Merry-Go-Round card with you:

This is my moveable Merry-Go-Round card...the horsey moves up and down on the Merry-Go-Round pole.  I've used Kaisercraft Gypsy Sister papers...I absolutely love the range of bold colors in this pack!!!  Viva Decor Glitter liner was used around the sentiment on the scalloped oval.  All flowers started out white....I airbrushed them with my Copic ABS to match the colors of the card! The flower arrangement was made with a Classic Sweet Rose 40mm, a Wild Rose 30mm, Aster Daisies, 5mm rosebuds, and Crystal Drops in Burgundy.

  Here you can see a close up of the flowers!  They have been glitzed with star dust stickles for lots of added sparkle!!!  I love how you can take white flowers and customize them to fit with the color scheme of your card! I hope you have enjoyed!

Roses for Christmas

Woohoo! Bev’s made a start on her Christmas cards lol – here’s my first. And I think this card shows that roses are perfect for Christmas cards too :)

I have used Basic Grey Capella papers again (the pad was still out on my desk from the weekend), and have coloured the image with distress inks. The punched border was done by using just the corner punch off the ATP set. Love the effect. I have stitched around the papers after distressing then applied Stickles for a lil bit of bling. The flowers I used are 15mm roses and 20mm roses that I have spritzed with Glimmer Mist that I mixed up myself to get the colour to match the card – unfortunately it don’t look good in the pictures but is a perfect match in real life.

Attaching embellies

I have been asked so many times how I  attach flowers and other embellishments to my cards.  I use Crafters Pick Incredibly Tacky Glue, I could not make a card without it!!

I apply the glue (which is really thick and grabs almost right away even though it’s not dry – and it dries clear) with a pokey tool. I apply a good dollop.

I also use it for punched leaves, just a little is needed for these.  Then I poke them in with a pair of tweezers where I have gaps in the arrangement.

I also use it to attach charms and anything else to the front of the card.

New Wild Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts

Welcome to Wild Orchid Crafts' first blog post.

Hi, and welcome to the first blog post from Wild Orchid Crafts. For such a long time we've been looking at so many wonderful blogs by our crafting friends and customers, so, we thought it was time that we would join in with the fun and start our own blog. We'll be using our blog to announce new products and other news and events. The first new event that we're really thrilled about and pleased to announce is the official launch of the Wild Orchid Crafts Design Team. The design team currently has two extremely talented designers - Bev Rochester and Jacqui Dennis. As well as being two extremely talented designers, they also two of the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet. Anyone who has followed Bev and Jacqui's blogs will know how much they enjoy working with flowers for their designs, and it's always an absolute joy for us to see their designs with our flowers. But of course, it's not just Bev and Jacqui who like to use our Mulberry Paper Flowers and crafts items. There are many blogs with so many beautiful designs. We are very lucky that the end result of selling our products is these amazing and gorgeous designs. Truly wonderful.
