Poinsettia Fun!

Hi Friends~ Hope your week is going wonderfully!

Today I'd like to share my first Christmas card of the year with you!  I thought I should kick it in gear and start making my Christmas cards, seeing how last year I ran out of time! lol!  This image is from Whiff of Joy and paper are from the Memory Box Mistletoe Collection.  Edges of the layers have been distressed with my Distress-It-All and then blinged up with diamond stickles. Image was colored with Copics and accented with my TonerTex Pen and Glitter.
The Poinsettia Flowers are from the wonderful Wild Orchid Crafts!  Oh my goodness are these perfect for Christmas cards.  They come with a yellow stamen center, however I took my flowers apart and used my Twinklets to bling them up.  Then put them back together and used my Pearl Stamens in the center instead.
Here are the smaller two Poinsettias that been given the same treatment as the large one above!  These seriously are PERFECT for your holiday cards!  You better go and get them now while they are still in stock! :)

Roses for Christmas

I have a card to share today that I did for the Just Magnolia challenge using the Cracked Glass technique (which I do NOT like lol).magnolia-cracked-glass-2

The flowers and lace are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, I used 40mm hybrid tea rose, 25mm hybrid tea roses, 15mm roses, 10mm roses, 8mm semi open roses and 4mm rose buds.  The pearls are also from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I decided I don’t like the cracked glass look so as soon as I had photographed the card for the Just Magnolia challenge I pulled the image off and replaced it with a plain and ordinary coloured image minus the cracks and wrinkles.  Much better lol.

Snowy Poinsettias!

Hello everyone!  Today I wanted to show you another way to alter those gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  These are wonderful paper poinsettias in the Christmas section.  The flowers on my card are approximately 3 - 3.5mm across.

I started by painting the outer edges with white paint, then came back with Stardust Stickles and while that was wet I added Fun Flock and waa laa! Snowy poinsettias!

I found that my fun flock was too transparent without the paint on the edges and then I wanted just a hint of glitter so that is the reason for the stickles.

The white stamens are a nice little filler for the poinsettas too and if you look at my other cluster of flowers, there is a red heart shaped pin.

So many fun accessories to use, so little time!!!

In case you didn't already know....this is the darling Father Christmas stamp from Lily of the Valley, of course, I think they are all darling, so there you go.

Have a wonderful Thursday!  Don't forget Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge has another challenge this Monday, Sept. 6th, so stay tuned!

Hugs, Dena

Two Little Piggies

I recently got some new Stamps and Smiles Piggy stamps and thought they would look adorable decked out with some fun Wild Orchid Crafts products!

My first card features lace, pearls and flowers!  Papers are from Basic Grey Olivia Collection.  The lace is the fabulous Guipure Lace!
Flower arrangement consists of Classic Sweet Rose, two 30mm Wild Roses, 15mm Roses (that started as white and were airbrushed to match the dark blue paper), Aster Daisy, 5mm closed rosebuds (that were also airbrushed).  All flowers were glitzed with star dust stickles.

Now for my next little piggy card:

I went for a vintage look on this card and used DCWV Linen Closet papers.

Flowers and Pearls are from the fabulous Wild Orchid!  All flowers have started as white and were airbrushed...on the teal ones I have also airbrushed a brown to make them more vintage.  Arrangement consists of a 35mm Wild Rose, 20mm roses, 15mm roses, 10mm roses, and an aster daisy.  Pearls have been placed in corners of card, on corner flourish and on flowers....they are 5mm and 3mm Brown Pearls.
Here is the upper flower arrangement using the same flowers!  All flowers have been painted with illuminate smooch...first time I put this one flowers and I have to say I LOVE the look it gives!!!

Hope you have enjoyed my piggies!!!

Wedding Gift Wallet

Good morning to everyone, Dawny P here  and I hope that you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday today :)

I thought I’d share this gift wallet which I made for my daughter to give to her friend who is getting married at the weekend.

They are giving money as their wedding gift but didn’t want to just put it into the card so she asked me to make something for her and this is what I did.

 Picture 003 copy

It’s simply made from a sheet of A4 card on which I’d printed Pink Petticoat Pretty Little Hearts.

I used Gold solid on one side and the negative image on the other (which is the inside of the wallet). Then I used the positive image for the outside.

I folded it into 3,  taped the bottom section on the 2 outer edges then decorated it.

bloom

The beautiful blooms and embellishments I used were  ……

   image

35mm Wild Rose in yellow which I then Glimmer Misted

image

White Heather Stems which are new in and are of course to symbolise good luck

image

8mm semi-open roses, again in yellow

image

White Pearl Stamens

image

Pearlescent Gold Head Pins

image

5mm Brown Self Adhesive Pearls

You could co-ordinate this to match your wedding card and easily adapt it to hold gift vouchers etc.

And by using poinsettias and seasonal embellishments, it would be fab for Christmas.

Have a great day and happy crafting xxx

Swiss Pixie with WOC flowers

Another card made with some georgeous WOC roses in beautiful colours :)

The Swiss Pixie images are masked together, stamped with Archival Ink - Coffee on aquarellpaper, and coloured with Distress Ink - Refills.
The banner is from Magnolia, and the text from Norsk Stempelblad.
The PP's from Maja Design - Mina Vänner "Rosa-Marina 2" & Magnolia - A Little Yummy For Your Tummy "Blueberry Dot", have got inked edges with Weathered Wood & Antique Linen.
I've used Wild Orchid Crafts - Wild Roses 30 mm (mushroom/cream) & Paper Roses 15 mm (pale blue) & 10 mm (white), along with some leaf punched out with a EK Suksess punch, as the main embellishment on the card. All the roses has got some "Lucky Oyster" glitter glue on them, to make them sparkle a bit :)

Thanks for peeking in - have a great weekend!
